Network Rail Bridge, Deansgate, Manchester

Works involved blast cleaning the existing paintwork to S.A. 2.5 from a fully encapsulated scaffold including dehumidification. Some of the paints removed contained lead and these where removed in accordance with the local Environmental Agency including a site decontamination unit, blood testing of operatives and safe removal of waste by an Approved Waste Carrier.

On completion of the blasting and inspection by Network Rail personnel a four part epoxy coating system was applied to Network Rail's specification, including blast primer, intermediate coats and a polyurethane finish.
